Marita Sauce (Pandanus) mixed with Beans, Greens and Parsley.

Home cooked meals are often cheap and easy to make. Most of the ingredients are collected from your own garden especially the greens and vegetables. Marita as it's called in Papua New Guinea or pandanus is the most delicious tropical fruit crop found in our country. Each province have their own style of growing and cooking. Basically It is boiled and the juice is squeezed out from the bones. The dish I'm sharing here is focused mainly on the sauce mixed with greens and vegetables. The bones are totally removed. I have prepared the following: ▪️8 Maritas (Pandanus) ▪️Few sweet potatoes ▪️A handful of bush greens ▪️Some green beans ▪️4 Maggi cubes ▪️1 teaspoon salt ▪️A handful of Parsley leaves ▪️Two cups water Steps: 🔸️ Boil the marita in a big pot. Cover the top with bush greens and aluminum foil to retain the heat. 🔸️At the same time, boil the sweet potatoes in a separate pot. 🔸️When boiled, drain the water from the marita (pandanus) and set aside to cool for at least 20 mi

Simple Pumpkin Porridge with Lamb Flaps

Welcome back! Here's a simple rainy morning breakfast made for a family of 7. All ingredients have been bought from the local market at 15PGK🇵🇬 (K15). Ingredients: 🔸️ 3 round red Tomatoes 🔸️1 round pumpkin 🔸️1 ginger root 🔸️Lamb flaps 500g 🔸️2 Bulb onions 🔸️3 tbsp cooking oil 🔸️1 tspn salt 🔸️Rosemary spice Steps: ▪️ Finely chop Pumpkin, tomatoes and onions into cubes. ▪️Cut the lamb flaps finely. ▪️Separate the chopped pumpkin from the rest of the ingredients. ▪️Grate ginger. ▪️ Pour the lamb flaps,  tomatoes, onions, and ginger into a bowl and mix. ▪️Sprinkle salt, rosemary spice and black sauce and mix all together. ▪️ Heat the pot on low heat or fire untill the oil is heated, then pour the mixer into the pot. ▪️ Stir fry the mixer till the lamb turns brown. ▪️ Add 1 cup water and let it boil for 2 minutes. ▪️ Add the chopped pumpkin into the pot and stir to mix. ▪️ Add 5 cups water into the pot and let it boil for 20 minutes. ▪️ Keep stirring the mixture till
