The word of God is alive and active,  sharper than any two-edged sword, it cuts all the way through to where soul and spirit meet, to where joint and narrow come together,  it judges the desires and thoughts of the heart. Welcome back!! Home made recipe on "Banana Flower" What is Banana Flower? It's part of the banana found below the last bunch of bananas that is purple color and looks like a cone or heart. It is rich in Fiber, antioxidants and numerous minerals. It may aid digestive health, prevents prostate enlargement, lowers blood sugar and supports bone health. Bamboo Shoots and Red Pandanus (Marita) Sauce Recipe

Helo and welcome back to my blog. Today I'd like to share a traditional dish I learnt over the weekend. It's just basic and simple to prepare. My preparation took about an hour 30 minutes, excluding the time I spent collecting them. Dish prepared for 10 people. ▪️15 bamboo shoots ▪️13 small red pandanus ▪️Some green leaves/veges ▪️2teaspoon salt ▪️5 chicken cubes ▪️10 cups of water Steps: ▪️Wash the bamboo shoots. ▪️Wash the greens. ▪️Cut in half  the red pandanus and remove the meat from the seeds. ▪️Dry them all under the sun for 20 minutes. ▪️After drying, place the bamboo shoots first into a big pot. ▪️Place the red pandanus on top of the pandanus. ▪️Cover the top with the bush green leaves. ▪️pour enough water to the top ▪️boil on open fire for 30- 40 minutes or more depending on the level of heat used to boil. check to make sure they are cooked. ▪️Then remove the pot from the fire and separate the pandanus,bamboo shoots and the greens. ▪️leave to cool for another 20 minu

Health Benefits of Lemon Leaf

Welcome Back!! Lemons are superfood. They contain a high amount of Vitamin C. Lemon Leaves have a lot of health benefits too. They have some therapeutic  properties. The leaves can cure cold and get rid of respiratory  infections that results in coughing. Helps urinary system to dispose of gravel that may accumulate in channels and help treat the problem of insomnia.  Lemon leaves can be boiled with warm water and taken with tea. I usually take lemon water (warm) in the morning but now have started drinking in the night because I believe that as we sleep it flushes out the toxins throughout the night till morning.  Well, my personal experience of its effect happened last Thursday, while preparing dinner I didnt realise that I was allergic to sea shells. Welcome back!! Its Mothers Day today ( sunday 09th May 2021) and I'm missing my mothers already. Beautiful and kind mamas who've been part of my earthy life. I thank God for them everyday. My mothers taught me how to cook different local dishes on open fire, copper dish, pot, clay pot, bamboo leaves and bamboo. Welcome back!! I'd like to share a traditional dish that I learnt to make while on my christmas holiday in the village. This is a very special dish . It is called "Asamp". I'd like to call it traditional cake because of the way its prepared, with layers that looks like the cake. The layers of mixer of kumu( veges) will capture you eyes. Haha!! (picture below) I've been told that only few elderly mothers can make the best asamp. (actually I wasn't told until I finished making this dish haha!! So probably I have made the team, yay!!) Home made Tomato and Egg Sauce Recipee

During my 2020 christmas holiday in the village, I tried some home made recipes for family consumption and This simple home made tomato and Egg sauce recipee is for four people I made one morning. It is very basic. Ingredients: 🔸️ 1 cup tomato 🔸️ 4 large eggs 🔸️ 4 scones 🔸️ Small bulb ginger 🔸️ pinch of salt 🔸️ 4 biscuits Cooking Time: 10 minutes starting from preparation. It should be a light sauce Steps: 1️⃣Wash the tomatoes. 2️⃣cut them into pieces and pour straight into a medium fry pan. 3️⃣ Break 4 eggs into a bowl and mix well. Add the grated ginger and pinch of salt into the egg mixture. Mix well together. 4️⃣Boil the tomatoes over low heat. ( open fire in my case haha!!) 5️⃣Add the egg mixture and stir as your pour the eggs inside the boiling tomatoes. 6️⃣ Continue stirring until the paste is formed. 7️⃣ Remove the pan from the fire and set the table. 8️⃣ While the sauce is still hot, spread the mixture on the scones, bread or biscuits and have it with Lettuce for breakf
